LIGEN.analytics confirmed as official analysis partner of Regionalliga Bayern until 2024

The Bavarian Football Association (BFV) and LIGEN have expanded a cooperation already existing for over ten years.

The BFV and LIGEN have been working closely together since the 2011/12 season – with a focus on the Regionalliga Bayern. The partnership incorporates both match analysis (LIGEN.analytics) and highlight coverage (LIGEN.entertainment). The cooperation has now been extended as part of a three-year contract until 2024 and the two different areas have been divided in such a way in order to operate independently of each other and to enable a further professionalisation in both sectors. LIGEN.analytics thus becomes the official analysis partner of the Regionalliga Bayern.

Separate production for scouting feed and broadcasts

Up to now, the games had primarily been produced for the fans. But since match analysis brings its own set of requirements, the analytical side will function as an independent pillar in the future. From this season on, the “.entertainment” or broadcasting area will be covered in close partnership with Niederbayern TV, which will also take over broadcasting in Bavaria’s regional network of stations.

Due to the increased focus in both areas, the scope in the LIGEN.analytics domain has been deepened significantly. By decoupling the analytics area, a genuine scouting feed (video recordings for the assessment of team tactical behavior) in accordance with the highest requirements of professional football has been created for Bavaria’s regional league teams for the first time.

Greater depth in match analysis

In addition to the scouting feed production for all matches which includes live tagging, post-match data transfer and the provision of all videos via the Coaching Cockpit analysis platform, the offer is further supplemented by the contextual analysis possibilities of the comprehensive Advanced analysis package. This includes the tagging of match clips according to 14 main categories and 41 groups of sub-categories; match reports on every match including over 2000 evaluations; interactive analysis tools; statistics on the league, individual teams and upcoming matches; a software license for videocoach and analytical consultation for all teams in the league.

“The new agreement with LIGEN.analytics and the resulting extensive expansion of match analysis is a milestone in the professionalisation of our top Bavarian league, which will help our clubs enormously in the sporting domain. Due to the excellent cooperation with LIGEN over many years, it was only logical to take the next step together,” says treasurer Jürgen Faltenbacher, who is on the executive committe responsible for match operations in Bavaria.

Marcin Gabor, Head of LIGEN.analytics says: “We are very pleased that the long-standing partnership with the Bavarian Football Association will now be significantly expanded in the area of match analysis and raised to a whole new level. The scope of services and the analytical depth will help the clubs of the Regionalliga Bayern to further develop their sporting performance.”
